About The Position

Could you be our next Sports Medicine Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner within Orthopedics at Paoli Hospital? Your care makes a difference for our patients! Our Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners can work in either an Inpatient or Outpatient setting alongside of the attending physician providing excellent patient care. They are a strong patient advocate within the medical system and will help write orders for testing and therapy, while working with multidisciplinary teams. The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner will also provide education to the patient and family on discharge instructions, medications, and addressing any concerns, while making sure the patient is transition to the appropriate level of care. Documentation is completed in EPIC to ensure patients plan and progress. Requirements

  • Two (2) years’ experience as physician assistant or Board eligible graduate preferred in Orthopedics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in an interdisciplinary environment.
  • Bachelor of Science degree or more in a physical science required.
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited physician assistant/surgical assistant program.
  • Must be certified or new graduate who is eligible for certification by the NCCPA (National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants).
  • Active license with Pennsylvania State Board of Medical Education and Licensure's certification required.
  • Provider BLS (American Heart Assoc/American Red Cross) required.
  • Successful completion of the MLH credentialing process through the Medical Staff office, with temporary or permanent privileges approved.
  • RNFA required for Nurse Practitioner.
  • Must wear a respirator as part of the job requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS certification preferred.
  • May require PALS.

Responsibilities
