Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon - Spine

Shriners Children'sLas Vegas, NV
Onsite

About The Position

Shriners Children’s Las Vegas is seeking a full-time Pediatric Spine Surgeon to join its expanding orthopedic program. This role is crucial in building a premier regional destination for complex pediatric spine care. The surgeon will provide advanced surgical and non-surgical treatment for a wide range of spinal deformities and conditions, including adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS), complex neuromuscular spine disorders, and other challenging pathologies. Experience with halo traction is highly valued. This position offers flexibility, allowing the surgeon to focus solely on spine cases or incorporate general pediatric orthopedic cases based on personal interest. The role is supported by a growing multidisciplinary team, robust APP support as volumes increase, and a strong institutional commitment to program development. Call responsibilities are designed to support work-life balance and program growth, being fully optional and compensated separately until 2030. With the opening of Intermountain’s dedicated children’s hospital, call will transition to a required schedule, anticipated at no more than 1 in 5 days. The position includes meaningful academic engagement, with opportunities for faculty appointment through UNLV and active involvement in resident and fellow education. The surgeon will work closely with UNLV orthopedic residents, an Air Force Orthopedic PA Fellow, and potentially an additional Valley Hospital resident as clinical volumes expand. This is an outstanding opportunity for surgeons at any career stage, including recent fellowship graduates, to join a mission-driven organization with strong institutional support, a robust referral base, and the ability to make a lasting impact on children and families across the region.
