About The Position
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, serving the culturally diverse community of Western Queens, is seeking a part time (24 hours per week) board certified/board eligible Pediatric Ophthalmologist to join the growing Division of Ophthalmology at Elmhurst Hospital Center in Elmhurst, New York. There are a wide variety of opportunities for program development and academic advancement in the areas of general pediatric ophthalmology, quality & safety and medical education. The hospital is easily accessible by public transportation and car from all areas of New York City, New Jersey and Long Island.
Requirements
- MD
- Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Ophthalmology
- Fellowship training in a related discipline
- Valid New York State License, DEA and Medicaid number
- Creative scholarship is required
- Experience in resident education and exemplary patient care, with an emphasis on strabismus
Nice To Haves
- Medical fluency in additional languages is helpful but not a requirement
Responsibilities
- Care for children and complex pediatric ophthalmology patients in the outpatient clinic setting.
- Interest in teaching.
