About The Position

Pediatric Occupational Therapist working with Birth-5 years of age. This role involves working in State of the Art Sensory Gyms or Preschools across Westchester County. The position offers flexibility in terms of days per week and can be Fee for Service or Full-Time. The company focuses on helping children with special needs develop skills for greater independence and an enhanced quality of life.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited university with a degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current New York State Occupational Therapy License (new grads welcome pending licensure).
  • Passion to work with children and their families.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with various professionals.
  • Self-starter and independent problem solver.
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement creative individual and/or group therapeutic interventions for all children on your caseload.
  • Administer and write up occupational therapy evaluations.
  • Ongoing communication with lead supervisors & coordinators, specifically related to case management.
  • Maintain professionalism with families, school teams, and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely attendance and billing logs.
  • Create and maintain schedules with assigned individual families/school personnel.
  • Collects data on each IFSP/IEP goal and reports on progress quarterly.
  • Provide input and attend/teleconference initial CPSE/CSE meetings and/or annual reviews.
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations in clinic, home and/or preschool based settings.
  • Write detailed speech and language evaluation reports demonstrating the child’s abilities and areas of difficulties.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and the evaluation team.
  • Develop appropriate functional goals using IEP direct.
