About The Position

The International College of Health Sciences (ICHS) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Pediatric Nursing Instructor to join our academic team. This position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced pediatric nursing professionals to instruct and supervise nursing students in clinical pediatric care settings. Purpose The Pediatric Clinical Instructor provides direct supervision and instruction to nursing students during their clinical rotations in pediatric patient care environments, including inpatient pediatric units, pediatric clinics, and related settings. This role ensures students develop practical skills, clinical judgment, and professional behaviors necessary for safe and effective pediatric nursing care.

Requirements

  • Unencumbered Florida or Compact State RN License required.
  • Minimum 4 years clinical experience as an RN required, with at least 2 years of recent pediatric nursing experience (inpatient pediatrics, pediatric clinic, or related setting) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of an Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school
  • Experience in clinical instruction, preceptorship, or nursing education preferred.
  • Strong clinical knowledge in pediatric nursing, including growth and development, pediatric assessment, and age-specific care.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to provide clear, constructive feedback and foster student growth in a clinical learning environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic documentation and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams and across multiple clinical sites.
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct.
  • Must reside within commuting distance of Margate, Florida.
  • This is not a remote position; on-site presence at pediatric clinical locations is required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings as needed.
  • At no time may work be performed, or computer systems accessed, from outside of the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing students in pediatric clinical settings.
  • Demonstrate and teach best practices in pediatric nursing care, including growth and development assessment, age-appropriate communication, and family-centered care.
  • Ensure student compliance with clinical site policies and procedures, including pediatric safety standards (e.g., medication dosing, identification, fall prevention).
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback and document student performance in pediatric rotations.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence and competence in pediatric nursing.
  • Collaborate with academic leadership to deliver pediatric clinical objectives aligned with course outcomes.
  • Integrate evidence-based pediatric practices and current pediatric nursing standards into instruction.
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of pediatric clinical curriculum as needed, including simulation and skills check-offs.
  • Serve as a liaison between ICHS, pediatric clinical site staff, and students.
  • Maintain open, professional communication with faculty, administration, and pediatric clinical partners.
  • Attend faculty meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities related to pediatric nursing and nursing education.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation of student attendance, progress, and evaluations for pediatric clinical courses.
  • Report any student or site concerns to the appropriate academic leadership in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional, state, and accreditation standards for clinical nursing education.
