About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity for an NP/PA who enjoys being part of an interdisciplinary and interprofessional team that provides compassionate and quality care to pediatric nephrology patients. Responsibilities will include evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic kidney disorders. The NP/PA will manage dialysis patients (hemodialysis and peritoneal), as well as hypertension and general nephrology outpatient clinics. They will see infants, children and young adults in ambulatory and telehealth settings. The NP or PA will also provide telephone management for families and school nurses, including oversight of RN phone management, as well as coordination with other disciplines.

Requirements

• Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner OR completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program.
• Active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing (for NP).
• Active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing (for NP).
• Current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner (for NP).
• Active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing (for PA).
• Current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (for PA).
• Demonstrate clinical competence.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills.
• Computer competence.
• Active desire to learn.
• Experience in the NP/PA role.
• Skills in working with children and families.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort working in a busy environment.

Responsibilities
