About The Position

Ochsner Health is seeking an Integrated Care Pediatric Primary Care Clinical Psychologist to practice at our Northshore location in Covington. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA approved university, be licensed or eligible for licensure in Louisiana, and possess experience working with children and adolescents. Special consideration will be given to applicants with experience in integrated care settings. Candidates with a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in School or Counseling Psychology with extensive experience in integrated health care settings will also be considered. In addition to strong clinical skills, the candidate should be able to collaborate effectively with other health professionals and contribute to program development.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA approved university
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Louisiana
  • Experience working with children and adolescents
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner with other health professionals
  • Ability to assist with program development

Responsibilities

  • Provide care to children, adolescents, and their families within a growing pediatric primary care clinic.
  • Accept consult requests from pediatric primary care providers to assist with triaging patient needs and implement brief, solutions-focused follow-up interventions as indicated.
  • Recommend appropriate follow-up services and help families navigate how to access additional services, including facilitating referrals to Ochsner's pediatric mental and behavioral health services.
  • Collaborate with other clinic staff to create protocols for screening common childhood mental health problems and developing a plan of care for at-risk patients.
  • Collaborate with other clinic staff to delineate a crisis protocol and assist in its implementation.
  • Remain well-informed of research on best practices for integrated care and participate in regional and/or national workgroups/professional organizations focused on integrated care and/or child psychology.
  • Participate in monthly section and department meetings, and participate in Pediatrics Grand Rounds as applicable.
