About The Position

Join an employed Pediatric Hospitalist Physician practice within a busy, well-respected service supported by a strong referral base and the resources of a robust health system network. The role is full-time in an inpatient setting and is part of an established, stable team of Physicians and Nurse Practitioners. The service has high acuity, access to Pediatric Subspecialists, and a mix of 10-hour and 24-hour in-house shifts. The physician will care for patients on the General Pediatric Floor and in the Pediatric Nursery, provide some PICU coverage, and rarely provide delivery-room coverage or ER consultations as needed. There is also an opportunity to teach medical students.

The facility is a 131-bed hospital with all-private rooms, a Level III NICU/PICU, more than 3,000 births, and an integrated referral network. The Pediatric service includes 24 Pediatric beds, 4 PICU beds, and 30 Pediatric Nursery beds, with excellent office support staff. The health system is part of Ascension, a national nonprofit Catholic health system.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Hospitalist practice.
• Eligible for an Illinois medical license and DEA/Controlled Substance registration.
• MD or DO degree required.
• Physician MD/DO credentialing from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation is required before the hire date or job transfer date.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced Life Support certification is preferred; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
