About The Position

Family First Homecare is hiring compassionate RNs and LPNs for multiple urgent pediatric home care cases in the Babson Park area. These are ongoing, high-acuity cases requiring consistent coverage and experienced nurses comfortable caring for medically complex pediatric patients. The role involves delivering high-quality, in-home nursing care to pediatric patients, providing comprehensive nursing services, and adhering strictly to Family First Homecare policies, state Nurse Practice Acts, and all applicable State and Federal regulations. Requirements

  • Active Florida RN or LPN license
  • 1 year of demonstrated experience
  • Valid driver license with proof of insurance in applicable states
  • Clear background screening
  • Working knowledge of Nurse Practice Acts
  • Valid and current CPR card/certificate with in person instructor led hands on skills check
  • Clear Hep B Screening in applicable states
  • Clear TB Screening in applicable states
  • The ability to read and communicate in English both verbally and in writing
  • Must be able to lift up to thirty five pounds (35) pounds without an assisted lifting device.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric or home care experience preferred
  • Trach/Vent experience required
  • Experience with seizure management and catheter care preferred
  • Reliable, compassionate, and patient-focused
  • Illinois: Not required. Staff are prohibited from driving patients.
  • Illinois: Hep B Screening: Not a prerequisite for hire. Completed as part of the onboarding process.
  • Pennsylvania: Additional Background Screening: Child Abuse, and FBI check.
  • Pennsylvania: Must complete TB screening with 2 step PPD, or 1 step PPD with proof of 2 step PPD administration within the last year.
  • Texas: N/A

Responsibilities

  • Providing care that is based on licensure/certification within the scope of practice
  • Maintaining an updated clinical record on each patient at all times, meeting required deadlines for documentation
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of nursing service to the patient and family on an ongoing basis
  • Consulting with physicians concerning alterations of patient care plans, documentation of changes in patient care and reports all changes in care to the nurse supervisor
  • Supporting FFHC’s mission by mentoring and/or coaching new employees during patient specific orientations
  • Educating patients and their caregivers on topics related to patients' care needs
  • Participating in FFHC Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement program (QAPI) as requested
  • Continually striving to improve his/her nursing care skills
  • Attending and/or completing all mandatory training/ in-services as assigned
  • Submitting required personnel file documentation in a timely manner
  • Adhering to FFHC compliance and ethics expectations
  • Maintaining patient and family confidentiality
  • Maintaining professional, supportive, and responsive interpersonal communication skills
  • Performing other duties as assigned
