About The Position

Stanford University’s Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition in the Department of Pediatrics seeks a pediatric gastroenterologist with expertise in neurogastroenterology and motility. The successful candidate will be appointed in the Clinician Educator line at the Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor rank, based on their qualifications and experience. Appointment, reappointment, and promotion are based principally on excellence in a combination of clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine. The comprehensive motility program provides esophageal, antroduodenal, and colorectal manometry; pH-Multichannel Intraluminal Impedance monitoring; Endoluminal Functional Lumen Imaging Probe (EndoFLIP); and Percutaneous Electrical Nerve Field Stimulation (PENFS). The role offers an opportunity to develop the program’s novel therapies. In collaboration with the current motility medical director, division leadership, and multidisciplinary partners, the candidate may help develop and expand a clinical neurostimulation program, potentially exploring modalities such as gastric electrical stimulation and sacral nerve stimulation. Modalities, responsibilities, and dedicated resources will be tailored to the candidate’s expertise and interests and institutional priorities. The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital has 40 faculty members, more than seven advanced practice providers, and an ACGME-accredited fellowship program with nine fellows. The motility team includes a medical director, an advanced practice provider, a program coordinator, and three motility nurses. The Division’s clinical program cares for more than 10,000 patients annually.
