About The Position

Cook Children's Health Care System (CCHCS) in Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas, is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible dermatologist specializing in pediatric dermatology to serve as the inaugural Chief of Pediatric Dermatology. This transformational leader will provide care for infants, children, and adolescents, functioning in a collaborative practice with Advanced Practice Providers. The role involves autonomous patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention, either in clinic or via telemedicine. CCHCS is a not-for-profit, nationally recognized pediatric health care system with a Magnet® designated medical center and a large physician network serving a wide referral area.

Requirements

  • Board certified/board eligible dermatologist.
  • Specializes in treating conditions and diseases of the skin, nails, and hair.
  • Licensed to practice medicine in Texas.
  • Eligible to secure an unrestricted Texas Medical License.
  • Board certified/eligible by the American Board of Dermatology.
  • Subspecialty certification in Pediatric Dermatology highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care for infants, children, and adolescents with conditions and diseases of the skin, nails, and hair.
  • Function in a collaborative practice with Advanced Practice Provider(s).
  • Autonomously perform patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention either in clinic or via telemedicine for patients according to approved protocols.
  • Lead and develop the Pediatric Dermatology program.
  • Create an economic model for Pediatric Dermatology that balances comprehensive quality care with fiscal opportunities.
  • Potentially teach medical students and pediatric residents.
  • Potentially pursue clinical research.
