Shawnee Health is seeking a passionate and skilled Pediatric Dentist to join our team at our brand-new, state-of-the-art Children’s Dental Center in Marion, Illinois. Designed specifically for children, this modern facility will feature advanced dental technology, in-office general anesthesia capabilities, and a warm, welcoming environment to ensure the best possible experience for our young patients. Providing the selected dentist the opportunity to step into a fully operational, high-demand practice from day one. As part of our mission-driven organization, you will play a key role in delivering compassionate, comprehensive care to children throughout southern Illinois, including those from underserved and rural communities.
Requirements
- DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school.
- Completion of a CODA-accredited Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program.
- Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Dentistry.
- Valid Illinois dental license and CPR certification.
- Familiarity with electronic dental records and imaging software.

- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive pediatric dental care, including exams, preventive services, and restorative care.
- Full-mouth rehabilitation under general anesthesia.
- Develop personalized treatment plans and educate parents/guardians to ensure positive dental experiences.
- Utilize advanced behavior management techniques to effectively treat young or special needs patients.
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in oral health promotion, education, and prevention programs in the community.
- Mentor and train dental students as appropriate.
- Engage in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
