Requirements

DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school
Valid license to practice dentistry in the respective state or region
Proven experience working with children in a dental setting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate, patient, and able to create a welcoming environment for young patients
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Passion for caring for children
Dedicated to ensuring the highest quality of care to patients
Friendly and professional demeanor
Valid malpractice liability insurance
Current license to practice dentistry

Nice To Haves

Certification in Pediatric Dentistry (e.g., Board Certification or equivalent) is preferred

Responsibilities

Examine, diagnose, and treat dental issues in pediatric patients, including infants, children, and adolescents
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's needs
Perform routine dental procedures such as cleanings, fillings, extractions, and sealants
Educate patients and their families on oral hygiene practices and preventive care
Monitor growth and development of the teeth and jaws, providing guidance as needed
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards
Collaborate with dental team members and specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care
Stay current with advancements in pediatric dentistry through continuing education
