About The Position

The Pediatric Dentist supports Willamette Dental’s evidence based treatment philosophy, mission, vision and core values by diagnosing and treating diseases that develop in the gums, teeth, and jaw in infants, children and teenagers. The Pediatric Dentist provides varying levels of anesthesia, including local, nitrous oxide and general anesthesia in a hospital setting.

Requirements

  • Degree as a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), and/or Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), with a certificate or MSD in Pediatric Dentistry, Board certified or eligible.
  • Successful completion of a post- doctoral residency program in area of specialty program and valid licensure in the specific state(s) where practicing.
  • DEA registration.
  • Maintenance of BLS certification.
  • Actively seeking or has achieved board certification by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
  • At a minimum, will maintain state board’s equivalent of a sedation permit.
  • Will maintain appropriate certifications to support the provider’s anesthesia permit.
  • Knowledge of Evidence based dental practices.
  • Knowledge of AxiUm electronic records
  • Fulfill all requirements to ensure proper electronic documentation for all care provided to patients.
  • Knowledge of CAMBRA and PEMBRA, with an emphasis on prevention.
  • Knowledge of Risk phases, and risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of Diagnostic terms.
  • Knowledge of Information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat and oral cavity anomalies.
  • Knowledge of Principles and processes for providing customer and optimal patient experience. This includes patient needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of patient satisfaction.
  • Skill In Performing anterior and premolar root canals
  • Skill In Extracting erupted teeth; either routinely or surgically.
  • Skill In Verbal and written communications.
  • Ability to Utilize evidence based dentistry to recognize, prevent, intercept and correctly identify appropriate treatment.
  • Ability to Operate a computer and a variety of software applications quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to Physically and visually perform surgical tasks and all dental procedures.
  • Ability to Communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing so others will understand.

  • Paid Time Off (PTO): Eligible employees will accrue a minimum of 120 PTO hours per employment year in addition to seven paid holidays annually. The Company’s PTO program combines vacation and sick leave, which is more generous than Washington State’s Sick Leave Law. Employees in part-time roles working less than 40 hours per week will accrue PTO on a pro-rated basis.
