About The Position

Looking for a career that makes you smile? We’re seeking a Pediatric Dental Hygienist to join our growing team. This role is responsible for delivering a positive clinical experience to all patients while strictly adhering to company policies and state dental laws, rules, and regulations under the direction and supervision of a Dentist. The position involves establishing a trusting rapport with patients, ensuring the Ultimate Patient Experience is delivered, screening patients during checkups, cleaning teeth and gums, examining for indications of oral cancer, reviewing patient history, maintaining patient charts, transcribing doctor notes, recommending care to improve oral health, performing preventive dental care, applying fluoride treatments, taking and reviewing x-rays, and sterilizing dental instruments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • State Hygiene License required
  • Current CPR Certificate required
  • Current Hepatitis B vaccination required
  • Ability to administer local anesthetic agents required
  • Minimum one (1) year of previous Pediatric Dental experience required
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with patients and coworkers
  • Ability to set priorities regarding patient care, manage full schedules and multi-task
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Responsibilities

  • Deliver positive clinical experience to all patients
  • Follow strict adherence to company policies as well state dental laws, rules and regulations
  • Establish a trusting rapport with patients
  • Ensure that the Ultimate Patient Experience is delivered to every patient
  • Screen patients during checkups
  • Clean accretions, calcareous deposits, and stains from teeth and gums
  • Examine for indications of oral cancer
  • Review a patient’s dental and medical history
  • Maintain patients’ charts and transcribe the doctor notes accurately
  • Recommend care to improve a patient’s oral health
  • Perform preventive dental care
  • Apply fluoride treatments
  • Take x-rays and review them for signs of dental diseases
  • Sterilize and prepare dental instruments
