Virginia Family Dentistry is looking for a Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our Atlee Specialty team! This is a non-exempt, hourly position. For 50 years, Virginia Family Dentistry has proudly served the greater Richmond area community. Requirements
- Knowledge of dental procedures
- X-ray certification
- OSHA regulations
- State Board requirements
- Willing to work in and be part of the larger team
- Communicate effectively with doctors, employees, and patients
- BLS certification
Nice To Haves
- 1 year or more of pediatric dental experience
- Completion of a dental assisting program
Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentists
- Take x-rays
- Stock, organize, and disinfect operatories
- Ensure instrument sterilization and proper infection control protocol
- Review the doctor’s schedule daily, set up and prepare for patient appointments with needed supplies, lab cases, implants and other necessary items
- Input treatment plan given by the doctor
- Keep the schedule on time and communicate with the front desk
- Maintain a lab tracking system to ensure all lab work is ready for the patients’ appointment
- Ordering and unpacking supplies
- Collaborate with the doctor scheduler on schedules and maintaining the unscheduled list by following up with the patients and needed treatment
- Help the administrative staff as needed
