About The Position

A pediatric dental practice is seeking a friendly, energetic, and reliable Dental Assistant to provide patient care in a fast-paced environment. The position is full time, with a minimum of 38–40 hours per week, and the schedule will be determined after the interview and hiring process. The work locations are Pembroke Pines and Plantation. The employer is hoping for an immediate start. Pay is $18–$23 an hour. Dental assisting experience is required; applicants without prior dental experience will not be considered. Responsibilities

Prepare and arrange tools and instruments for scheduled procedures.
Hand tools and equipment to the dentist and assist during treatment.
Perform prophylaxis and administer fluoride treatments.
Record findings, change barriers, and sterilize equipment.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays).
Ask patients about their medical history.
Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.
Provide instructions for oral care and dental treatment procedures, including placement of restorations.
Teach patients oral hygiene strategies, including brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling.
Take impressions of patients’ teeth for study casts.
Perform office management tasks using a personal computer.
Communicate with patients and suppliers, including scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing, and ordering supplies.
