About The Position

Cortica is seeking a full-time Site Nurse Practitioner for its growing team in Warren, NJ. This role involves conducting thorough patient intakes, screenings, and assessments tailored to the unique needs of pediatric patients and their families. The Nurse Practitioner will provide ongoing education to families and collaborate with specialists to deliver comprehensive care, including nutrition evaluation, dietary support, and medical management. The position works alongside cognitive and behavioral child neurologists and pediatricians to manage conditions such as attention deficits, sleep issues, headaches, and behavioral challenges, including medication management and medical follow-ups.

Requirements

  • Knowledgeable regarding diagnoses and therapies for the following conditions: Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Speech and Language delay, Sensory Processing Disorder, Headaches, Insomnia, Epilepsy (seizure action plan, safety), sensory processing disorder and other neurodevelopmental diagnosis.
  • Minimum of 24 months in pediatric practice in an outpatient setting (pediatric or family nurse practitioner), preferably behavioral neurology and/or Neurodevelopmental Medicine (NDM) and pediatric behavior disorders, including autism.
  • Experience prescribing medication within a pediatric outpatient setting.
  • Proficient in ADIR/ADOS diagnostic evaluation (Gold standard).
  • Current and unrestricted license and/or certification that is required to practice within your clinical domain and obtain cross-state licensure in new states as indicated by the current business needs.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Complete thorough patient intakes, screenings, and assessments that incorporate the unique characteristics and needs of each patient and family member into the plan of care.
  • Triage referrals for acute needs to other members of the Cortica team.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team members to coordinate compendium of care for each patient.
  • Utilize the nursing process, scientific reasoning and critical problem solving to practice within the scope of responsibilities as defined by the State Board of Nursing including placing orders and screening tests in in accordance with approved protocol(s) and guidelines.
  • Provide ongoing education to families enrolled in our medical program on a diverse set of well-delineated topics including what it means to have an autism label, how to help you child sleep, pill-swallowing, sexuality, navigating the school system and much more.
  • Provide nutrition evaluation and dietary support in concert with our speech and occupational therapy team.
  • Work with our cognitive and behavioral child neurologists and pediatricians to provide ongoing care for attention, sleep, headaches, and challenging behavior, medication management as well as medical follow-ups.
