About The Position

The Pediatric Center Specialty Clinic Director provides clinical leadership, strategic direction, and program oversight for specialty outpatient clinic services within the Pediatric Center of Behavioral Health. This role ensures high standards of clinical practice, regulatory compliance, and ongoing development of pediatric specialty programs. Working in partnership with medical, operational, and administrative leaders, this position supports clinical supervision, quality assurance, policy development, and staff training while promoting safe, developmentally appropriate, and family‑centered care.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in a licensed clinical discipline required
  • Three to five years of experience in clinical program development, regulatory oversight, or administration
  • Three to five years of progressive management experience required
  • Strong knowledge of clinical, regulatory, and accreditation standards
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary clinical teams
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to drive program growth and quality improvement initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills related to operations, budgets, and program performance
  • Proficiency with electronic systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage sensitive, confidential situations with professionalism
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license may be required

Responsibilities

  • Ensure successful clinical and financial operations of pediatric specialty outpatient clinics
  • Oversee and guide pediatric therapy practices within outpatient services
  • Foster a collaborative, cross‑service pediatric team culture
  • Partner with Clinical Director to ensure practices align with evidence‑based standards and Pediatric Center Model of Care
  • Collaborate with executive, medical, and operational leadership on strategic and operational planning
  • Identify clinical, quality, and compliance risks and implement improvement strategies
  • Monitor quality and safety metrics in partnership with Quality leadership
  • Oversee clinical supervision, licensure support, and professional development
  • Ensure staff receive appropriate training, competency development, and continuing education
  • Guide development and expansion of pediatric specialty programs and services
  • Improve patient, family, and staff satisfaction through quality initiatives
  • Investigate and respond to clinical concerns, ensuring corrective action and follow‑up
  • Provide consultation and guidance to interdisciplinary teams and leadership
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CARF, payer, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate on policy development, documentation standards, and EHR optimization
  • Serve on leadership, governance, and advisory committees as assigned
  • Partner with Medical Director and physician leadership for psychiatric oversight
  • Collaborate with Risk Management to support patient safety and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain required training and programmatic competencies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Supervise pediatric specialty services team in collaboration with Clinical Director
  • Supervise Outpatient Specialty Clinic Program Supervisor
