About The Position

This full-time position is for a Pediatric Cardiovascular & Electrophysiology Specialist II at Atrium Health CMC Main. The role involves providing care for the comfort and well-being of patients, assisting physicians with treatments, therapies, and procedures (including scrub assistant, monitoring, and circulating), and administering medication under physician supervision. The specialist will document patient information, communicate relevant details to physicians and teammates, and analyze data. Participation in committee and governance activities is highly recommended, and the role involves demonstrating leadership as a preceptor and serving as a clinical resource. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with periods of prolonged concentration and critical thinking. Physical requirements include walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The role also involves standing and walking while wearing lead radiation protection aprons, responding quickly to changes in patient conditions, and potential exposure to radiation, secretions, and blood. Travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or Allied Health Technology, such as Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or comparable.
  • Graduate of Cardiovascular Interventional Program or minimum or two years of experience as a Cardiovascular Specialist.
  • Registered and certified by the ARRT or current license as a Registered Nurse in applicable state or Respiratory Therapist.
  • If not licensed or certified (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)), allied health professionals will have 12 months to successfully obtain.
  • Must maintain current BLS, ACLS and Certification requirements.
  • The Cardiovascular / Electrophysiology (EP) Specialist II must successfully meet and maintain the requirements of the complexity-based model of care.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is essential.
  • Intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, manual dexterity, good eye hand coordination.

  • Demonstrates leadership in role as a preceptor and serves as a clinical resource for others.
