About The Position

Inova Children’s Cardiology and the Inova Children’s Heart Center are seeking a full-time Pediatric Cardiologist to join their expanding team. This role offers the opportunity to practice within a nationally recognized pediatric heart program and serve a growing patient population across Northern Virginia. The position will focus on ambulatory pediatric cardiology clinics and provide outpatient pediatric cardiology care throughout the Southeast Region of Northern Virginia, specifically in Woodbridge, Manassas, Stafford, and Alexandria. The selected candidate will have a 100% ambulatory clinic practice and opportunities to engage in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and the education of medical students and pediatric residents. The Inova Children’s Heart Center is a comprehensive team that includes congenital cardiac surgery, outpatient cardiology, fetal cardiology, non-invasive cardiology, adult congenital cardiology, diagnostic and interventional catheterization, and electrophysiology. The successful candidate will join a team of board-certified pediatric cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons committed to collaboration, teamwork, and delivering outstanding patient care. The Inova Children’s Heart Center comprises 24 pediatric cardiologists across multiple subspecialties. Inova LJ Murphy Children’s Hospital is a 226-bed children’s hospital located on the Inova Fairfax Hospital medical campus in Northern Virginia, serving as the only dedicated children’s hospital in the region. It features a 108-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Inova Children’s Cancer Center, Level One Trauma Center, and a specialized air and ground transport service.

Requirements

Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
Board eligible or board certified in Pediatric Cardiology.
Successful completion of Pediatric residency program.
Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.
Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start.
Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors.
Ability to be enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor.
Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges.

Responsibilities

Support ambulatory pediatric cardiology clinics.
Provide outpatient pediatric cardiology care throughout the Southeast Region of Northern Virginia.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Engage in clinical research.
Educate medical students and pediatric residents.
Work with the Chief of Pediatric Cardiology and leadership of the Inova Children’s Heart Center to execute yearly personal and programmatic goals focused on safety, quality, patient experiences, access, and stewardship.
Focus on teamwork, collaboration, and dedication to patients, families, and colleagues.
Conduct outpatient general pediatric cardiology.
