About The Position

Pediatric CICU Physician sought for growing San Antonio, TX! We are searching for a full-time CICU Intensivist to join the growing team at Methodist Children’s Hospital in San Antonio, TX. We seek BC/BE physicians trained in PICU or Cardiology with either additional training or extensive time in CICU practice. The Methodist Children’s Heart Institute takes a collaborative, patient-centric approach to care delivery and walks alongside patients and families on their treatment journey. The program leverages support from the Methodist Health System, the leading adult cardiac program in San Antonio, and HCA, as a member of a 4-program national pediatric congenital heart network. The CICU is a new, dedicated PCCU with 12 beds and expansion plans to 24. PICU colleagues are on the floor below. There is a close partnership with dedicated Cardiology partners. The role is clinical with a focus on direct patient care. Experienced NP coverage is available Monday-Friday and will be expanding to 7 days a week this summer. The hospital has a full complement of subspecialty services, including ECMO, CRRT, TPE. The MCHI program is supported by an Administrative Director, Clinical and Quality leads, a dedicated Educator, and a Patient Navigator. San Antonio is the 7th largest city in the US with 1.5 million people, offering diversity and a reasonable cost of living. It provides easy access to outdoor activities, parks, an extensive protected trail system, and the San Antonio Riverwalk. The city boasts diverse cuisine and culture, being a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy and home to a Culinary Institute of America campus. It is family-oriented with good public, private, and bilingual school options.
