About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a Pediatric Cardiac Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care for surgical and obstetrical procedures. This role involves performing anesthesia-related procedures under the supervision of an attending anesthesiologist, evaluating patients preoperatively, formulating and executing anesthesia care plans, and monitoring patient reactions. The CRNA will also safely transport patients, ensure appropriate postoperative care, and supervise student nurse anesthetists. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited/approved CRNA program.
  • New Graduates accepted during final semester.
  • TN Registered Nurse license.
  • CRNA certification.
  • Consideration may be given to candidates that can obtain license/certification within 90 days, in accordance with state guidelines.
  • Master's degree.
  • Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates must not have worked for VUMC within the last 12 months to qualify for the signing bonus.
  • Must relocate from greater than 100 miles to qualify for relocation bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Administers general, regional and monitored anesthesia care for scheduled and emergency surgical and obstetrical procedures.
  • Performs anesthesia-related procedures at the discretion of and under the supervision of an attending anesthesiologist.
  • Evaluates patients preoperatively and, in consultation with the attending anesthesiologist, formulates and carries out an anesthesia care plan.
  • Monitors and records patient reaction to anesthesia and modifies the anesthetic plan accordingly.
  • Safely transports patients to and from an anesthetizing location and ensures appropriate care during the postoperative period.
  • Supervises, instructs, and counsels student nurse anesthetists to ensure patient safety.
  • Interacts with staff and patients in a way that shows respect and consideration for the individual.
