About The Position

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for providing clinical services to Community Health patients and providing clinical oversight to a team of approximately 4 (and growing) licensed and unlicensed pediatric providers and interns in the Behavioral Health Department. Patient services include psychosocial assessments; individual psychological assessments; individual, group and family therapy; participation on interdisciplinary treatment teams; understands relevant community resources, insurance, regulatory, and legal system issues relevant to the care of patients in an outpatient setting. Supervisor services include providing clinical oversight and case reviews; supervise staff hours for licensure; ensure compliance with Federal, State and Agency regulation compliance; facilitate agency trainings; participate in the establishment / revision of agency policies, assist the Manager of the Behavioral Health with program planning, implementation and evaluation activities; participates in community outreach activities and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Possesses an unencumbered license in one of the following professions in the jurisdiction where the supervised practice occurs: a licensed clinical mental health counselor; or a licensed independent clinical social worker.
• Must have possessed an unencumbered license for no fewer than three years in a permitted supervisory profession listed above.
• LICSW / LCMHC patient work and medical crisis intervention, solution-focused therapy, and knowledge of community resources or related experience; LADC a plus.
• At least 5 years of Pediatric behavioral health and medical crisis intervention, solution- focused therapy, and knowledge of community resources or related experience
• Experience working with pediatrics with acute mental illness and substance abuse disorders.
• Licensed by the State of Vermont as a Clinical Social Worker or other Clinical Behavioral Health License.
• Previous supervisory roles and professional trainings.
• Experience working with patients with acute mental illness and substance abuse disorders.
• Must have knowledge and understanding of policies and must adhere to them.
• NASW, AMHCA code of conduct, principles, and regulations.
• Psychosocial assessments, utilization, and case management principles.
• Individual and family supportive counseling and advocacy.
• Interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards relevant to acute inpatient and outpatient psychological services.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Clinical standards of practice and licensure requirements
• Basic Microsoft Windows desktop application and navigation skills

Responsibilities

• Provide Outpatient Psychological Services in an Outpatient Primary Care Setting including diagnostic evaluations, individual and group psychotherapy, written diagnostic and evaluation reports, consultation with primary care physicians and other providers, maintain established productivity standards, communicate with referral sources, ensure appropriate referrals, make collateral contact with the primary care physician of all outpatients, facilitate referral to alternative or additional providers as clinically appropriate, and provide 16 hours of direct, billable services per week.
• Document Professional Activity by providing clear, accurate and thorough assessments, treatment plans/progress notes, processing timely mandated abuse/neglect reports, preparing patient profiles for alternative care placements, assisting patients/families with referral forms/applications for community services and resources, and completing all required meeting logs and statistics.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team by clearly communicating the social work role with healthcare team, actively participating in team planning for patient care, providing social work consultation on request, coordinating closely with other area social and health agencies on patients’ behalf, providing employee assistance on request, and being an advocate for patients and the needs of the organization.
• Professional behavior and development including maintaining principles of the organization’s values, identifying personal and professional goals, pursuing continuing education relevant to career goals, abiding by the profession's code of ethics and conduct, providing education on patient rights and responsibilities, participating in hospital-wide committees, initiatives, and projects, providing community services and education, and conducting self in a professional manner with patients, families, RRMC and community colleagues.
• Provide Information/Referral Services for Community Resources by maintaining constant awareness of area resources, eligibility criteria, and updates on changes in these services, participating in community-based initiatives relevant to work assignment, keeping updated on out-of-area resource information relevant to patient need, liaising to legal, licensing and protection agencies, and advocating for system change to improve continuing care outcome.
• Participates in Required Departmental Activity including regularly attending required staff meetings, supervision and related projects or committee meetings, completing work as assigned, completing daily statistics in timely and accurate way, participating in coverage of peers and on-call system, demonstrating collegiality and commitment relevant to the department’s mission, and providing Behavioral Health case consultation to all locations as needed.
• Pediatric Clinical Supervisor role and responsibilities including weekly supervision for all rostered pediatric psychotherapists, monthly for licensed and interns, all submissions of hours for master program & internships, OPR submissions for licensure, completing Bi Annual reviews/ 90-day reviews for the pediatric psychotherapists, onboarding/ training new pediatric staff, spearheading the internship program with CHCRR, holding a caseload of 16 patients and productivity standards of 16 scheduled/ 14 billed weekly, completing quarterly chart audits for pediatric psychotherapists, reviewing and monitoring productivity standards and panel reports for all pediatric psychotherapists, attending internal and external meetings to represent BH programs, monitoring competencies/ training requirements, and conducting interviews and hiring of Pediatric Psychotherapists.
• Clinical and Administrative Duties including attending leader and other relevant agency meetings, coordination of behavioral health processes, liaison between behavioral health and CHCRR administration, coordinate referral process at all sites to improve process and productivity, work with billing department to ensure services are being billed correctly, implement behavioral health services into the EMR, provide supervisory support and back-up to behavioral health crisis team, monitoring the quality of behavioral health services, develop ways to create new behavioral health services, develop standardized behavioral health policies and procedures, and oversee staff training and training allowance.
