About The Position

Casa Smiles is seeking a caring Pediatric Assistant to support its pediatric dental practice in Hialeah, Florida. The role helps provide a warm, child-friendly clinical environment and supports dentists in caring for young patients. The assistant works chairside during procedures and examinations, prepares treatment rooms and instruments, helps children feel comfortable, and supports accurate documentation and patient education. The role may also assist with supply inventory and front-office coordination. Casa Smiles is a pediatric dentistry and orthodontic practice founded over 36 years ago. Its mission is to provide children with quality dental care in a welcoming environment while fostering lifelong habits for healthy teeth and gums.

Requirements

Prior experience as a dental assistant, pediatric assistant, or in a clinical dental setting is preferred.
Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and sterilization protocols.
Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with children of all ages.
Strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

Dental radiography (X-ray) certification, or willingness to obtain it.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
CPR/BLS certification, or ability to obtain it upon hire.

Responsibilities

Assist the dentist chairside during pediatric dental procedures and examinations.
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and treatment rooms between patients.
Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) as directed.
Help manage patient comfort and anxiety, especially for young or nervous children.
Accurately record patient information, treatment notes, and medical histories.
Educate patients and parents on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Maintain inventory of dental supplies.
Assist with front-office coordination as needed.
