About The Position

Our Pediatric Anesthesiologists have Faculty appointments at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine and practice in a care team model with over 60 faculty, 30 CRNAs, 11 pediatric anesthesiology fellows, and anesthesiology residents from multiple programs. We currently perform 35,000-40,000 annual procedures and are in the process of building a new patient tower scheduled to open in 2028. We offer incredible expertise in the perioperative care of complex patients and cases across every possible surgical service. We have an established research and clinical mentorship program fostering pathways to academic promotion, numerous ongoing research projects by our faculty, and one of the nation’s largest and most sought-after pediatric anesthesia fellowship programs. There is a dedication to, and hospital support for, quality improvement work, and incredible education programs like simulation boot camps, airway learning labs, and point of care ultrasound courses. We also have an active DEI committee and activities, that continue to grow and expand.

Requirements

  • Doctorate Medicine (MD) or Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Working knowledge of hospital policies, practices and protocols as well as applicable regulations and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications.
  • Skills in exercising initiative, judgment, problem solving, decision-making.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients and the public.
  • Ability to research and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and electronic).
  • Medical License - in Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and any states practicing in - upon hire - Required
  • Board Certification - Medical Sub/Specialty - - upon hire - Required
  • DEA License - - upon hire - Required
