About The Position

St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida, is seeking a Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join a collegial and experienced anesthesia team serving patients across St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, and St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital. The anesthesia group is a cohesive and highly respected team of 28 anesthesiologists and more than 50 advanced practice providers, working together to deliver outstanding perioperative care. Pediatric anesthesiologists play a vital role in caring for children from newborns to adolescents, with opportunities for involvement in complex and high-acuity cases. The hospital is part of a growing children’s health program with plans approved for a new, free-standing Children’s Hospital adjacent to the current facility. It features dedicated pediatric surgical suites and a full spectrum of subspecialty services. Collaborative partnerships exist with surgeons, intensivists, and subspecialists who share a commitment to compassionate, family-centered care.

Requirements

Pediatric Anesthesiology Board Certification or Eligibility
Florida medical license or ability to obtain prior to start

Responsibilities

Deliver outstanding perioperative care for pediatric patients.
Care for children from newborns to adolescents.
Involvement in complex and high-acuity cases.
Provide supportive supervision (3:1 model) with opportunities for hands-on cases.
Share pediatric call responsibilities among the pediatric anesthesia team.
Perform some adult anesthesia.
