About The Position

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is seeking a Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join their team. This role involves a Faculty appointment at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine and practice within a care team model. The department performs 35,000-40,000 annual procedures and is expanding with a new patient tower opening in 2028. Requirements

Doctorate Medicine (MD) or Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required
Working knowledge of hospital policies, practices and protocols as well as applicable regulations and guidelines.
Knowledge of computer systems and applications.
Skills in exercising initiative, judgment, problem solving, decision-making.
Skill in developing and maintaining effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients and the public.
Ability to research and prepare comprehensive reports.
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and electronic).
Medical License - in Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and any states practicing in - upon hire - Required
Board Certification - Medical Sub/Specialty - - upon hire - Required
DEA License - - upon hire - Required

Nice To Haves

Additional application through the University of Pennsylvania will be required for Faculty appointment.

Responsibilities

Provide perioperative care for complex patients and cases across every possible surgical service.
Participate in research and clinical mentorship programs.
Engage in quality improvement work.
Contribute to education programs such as simulation boot camps, airway learning labs, and point of care ultrasound courses.
Collaborate within a care team model with faculty, CRNAs, fellows, and residents.
