About The Position

The Department of Anesthesiology at Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a board-certified Pediatric Fellowship Trained Anesthesiologist to join their team. This role involves a mixed practice with a majority of pediatric general cases, but also includes the full spectrum of pediatric and adult surgical cases. You will work within a team of over 60 Anesthesiologists, many with fellowship training, and have the option of a solo or care team model with CRNAs. Academic appointment opportunities are available through the University of Virginia, with the chance to work with medical students and residents. Inova L. J. Murphy Children's Hospital is highly recognized, including being named among the 50 best in the nation for neonatology by U.S. News & World Report, a Level 1 Verified Children's Surgery Center, and one of the country's 25 Best Hospitals for Pediatrics by The Leapfrog Group and Money. The hospital also holds certification from ChildKind International for pediatric pain care. Requirements

  • MD or DO from an accredited university medical school.
  • Completed ACGME residency training and subsequent fellowship.
  • ABA certification in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology.
  • Current or eligibility for an unrestricted Virginia state medical license and DEA.
  • Board-certified Pediatric Fellowship Trained Anesthesiologist.

Responsibilities

  • Provide anesthesia care for a mixed pediatric and adult patient population.
  • Manage a majority of pediatric general cases.
  • Handle the entire spectrum of pediatric and adult surgical cases including general, ENT, ortho, neurosurgery, ophtho, dental, urology, GE, and OB.
  • Work within a solo or care team model with CRNAs.
  • Participate in academic appointments and educational opportunities with medical students and residents.
