About The Position

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist to join their collaborative and dynamic Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology. This division comprises 16 fellowship-trained pediatric anesthesiologists committed to clinical care, education, and multidisciplinary partnerships. Faculty are actively involved in resident and fellow education through an accredited Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship program, with opportunities for mentorship, program development, and leadership. The clinical environment at UNC Hospitals and North Carolina Children’s Hospital is diverse and high-acuity, with over 12,000 pediatric anesthetics administered annually. The practice covers a wide array of surgical and procedural care, supported by a 20-bed multidisciplinary Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and a 13-bed dedicated Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU). The institution supports active pediatric cardiothoracic surgery, ECMO, burn, trauma, solid organ transplantation, and bone marrow transplantation services. The division also participates in a multidisciplinary pediatric sedation service and a strong regional anesthesia program, contributing to perioperative care and enhanced recovery pathways.
