About The Position

The University of North Carolina is seeking a talented and dedicated board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist (open rank) to join their team. Leadership opportunities are available for interested candidates. UNC Children’s Hospital is a nationally ranked children’s hospital with significant projected growth and legislative support for a new free-standing Children’s Hospital. The Department of Anesthesiology at UNC Chapel Hill is looking for a pediatric anesthesiologist to join their team at UNC’s flagship Children’s Hospital. The pediatric anesthesiology practice covers all sub-specialties, from healthy outpatients to complex neonatal surgery. UNC Children’s Hospital is a major regional referral center with specialized programs in pediatric ICU, neonatal ICU, pediatric ECMO, cardiac, burn, trauma, pain, sedation, solid organ, and bone marrow transplantation. The Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology administers over 12,000 anesthetics annually. The department features an ACGME-accredited pediatric anesthesiology fellowship and serves as the training site for the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. The department also has a strong Global Health program, a simulation lab, and collaborates closely with the UNC School of Medicine. Protected academic time is provided for clinical, quality, educational, and research pursuits, with supporting infrastructure. Responsibilities

  • Provide pediatric anesthesiology services across all sub-specialties, from healthy outpatients to complex neonatal surgery.
  • Administer over 12,000 anesthetics annually.
  • Participate in the ACGME accredited pediatric anesthesiology fellowship program.
  • Serve as a training site for pediatric anesthesiology for the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.
  • Pursue clinical, quality, educational, and research interests with protected academic time and supporting infrastructure.
  • Potentially take on leadership roles as Division Chief.
