Children's Mercy is seeking an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or D.O. board-certified or board-eligible Pathologist for the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (DPLM). The ideal candidate will be a Diplomate of the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology or AP and a pathology subspecialty. Preference will be given to candidates board-certified or eligible in Pediatric Pathology. Applicants with demonstrated experience or training in Pediatric Pathology without board certification will also be considered. This role involves signing out pediatric surgical pathology cases and autopsies. Individuals with specific interest or training in GI, Renal, and/or Transplant pathology are encouraged to apply. Children's Mercy Kansas City is a leading pediatric healthcare organization, a level 1 trauma center, and has active transplant programs. The DPLM offers research opportunities in collaboration with clinical sections and research laboratories, including genetics and a genome center. The hospital has academic affiliations with UMKC and KUMC, offering training and educational programs. The candidate must be eligible for Missouri and Kansas medical licenses. An academic appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level (non-tenure-track) in the Department of Pathology at UMKC is included, with expectations for educational and scholarly activities.
