Pediatric Anatomic Pathologist
About The Position
Children's Mercy Kansas City is seeking an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or D.O. board-certified or board-eligible Pathologist for the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (DPLM). The ideal candidate will be a Diplomate of the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology or AP and a pathology subspecialty. Preference will be given to candidates board-certified or eligible in Pediatric Pathology. Applicants with demonstrated experience or training in Pediatric Pathology without board certification will also be considered. This role involves signing out pediatric surgical pathology cases and autopsies. Individuals with specific interest or training in GI's and/or Renal and/or Transplant are encouraged to apply. Children's Mercy Kansas City is a large, standalone, tertiary care, pediatric healthcare organization and a level 1 trauma center with active transplant programs. The DPLM offers research opportunities with clinical sections and research laboratories, including genetics and a genome center. The hospital has academic affiliations with UMKC and KUMC, offering training and educational programs. The candidate must be eligible for Missouri and Kansas medical licenses. Academic appointment will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level (non-tenure-track) at UMKC, with expectations to contribute to educational and scholarly activities. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefit package is included. Requirements
- M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or D.O.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology or AP and a pathology subspecialty
- Eligible for an active, unrestricted Missouri and Kansas medical licenses
- Commitment to excellence, integrity, collegiality, antiracism, and respect for inclusion of individuals with diverse backgrounds
- Willingness to be vaccinated for seasonal influenza
- Willingness to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella)
- Willingness to be vaccinated for tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) if without evidence of vaccination since 2005
