About The Position

Join a talented group of more than 90 Morrison Healthcare dietitians at the University of Virginia Health System in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia. At this level one trauma center, dietitians play an integral role on multidisciplinary teams in many specialty areas, both in the 675 bed inpatient setting, as well as in over 35 outpatient clinics. RDs participate in research and quality improvement projects, host dietetic interns, and are supported in pursuing leadership and community service experiences. Continuing education opportunities are plentiful from within the accomplished nutrition team and from the health system which values ongoing training and education. This hybrid 40 hour/week role will support our Pediatric Inpatient Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition team and Adult Digestive Health Clinic. This RD will provide specialized medical nutrition therapy for patients with complex gastrointestinal and nutrition-related disorders. Common diagnoses seen in Digestive Health include IBS/IBD, colitis, SIBO, gastroparesis, and food intolerances/allergies. The ideal candidate would enjoy assessing patients for disordered eating and working with patients to prevent excessive restriction. Other desired qualities include strong clinical skills, a thirst for learning, and ability to build connections with providers. This role includes providing specialized nutrition support. Candidates are encouraged to pursue advanced certification such as CNSC (Certified Nutrition Support Clinician) within two years of hire to enhance clinical expertise and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
  • Licensed Dietitian (or willing to obtain) in the state of practice as applicable
  • Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or eligible
  • Healthcare experience preferred—new graduates with strong clinical training are encouraged to apply
