Pedestrian door technician
About The Position
Ohio Commercial Door Co. is seeking both experienced Pedestrian door service technicians and applicants looking to train on the job. This role offers the opportunity to work in a skilled trade with long-term employment potential. The pedestrian door division focuses on the repair and replacement of various door types including Aluminum and glass doors, Hollow metal doors and frames, All Glass (Herculite) doors, Wood doors, ADA doors, and associated hardware. Technicians will be exposed to diverse businesses and environments daily, ensuring quality service and positive customer experiences. They will also have the ability to suggest products and collaborate with the quoting manager.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Mechanically inclined with knowledge of power and hand tools usage
- Strong communication skills
- Customer service oriented
- A pre-employment background check and drug test
Nice To Haves
- Background in construction
- Experience with installation and repair of pedestrian doors and related door hardware a plus
Responsibilities
- Service, repair, and install commercial pedestrian doors
- Serve as the face to the customer, ensuring a positive interaction
- Assist the quoting process by collecting accurate information regarding door and repair issues
- Ensuring a safe work environment
- Assist other team technicians as needed
- Completion of customer job tickets for accurate billing on an app on work iPad
- Experienced technician will be provided a company van to be used during business hours or Emergencies
- Keeping your work space clean, including your work van and the shop area if fabricating or doing work in the shop.
