About The Position

The Pearl is Charlotte's innovation district, a collaborative ecosystem integrating healthcare, education, research, technology, entrepreneurship, workforce development, and community partnerships. Through the Pearl Innovation Fellows program, interns will be placed in specialized roles within The Pearl and its partner departments. This experience offers direct exposure to the daily operations of innovation, biotechnology, medical technology, artificial intelligence, and community impact initiatives. Fellows will delve into their specific placements while also participating as part of a broader cohort, guided by The Pearl's Education and Innovation Partnerships department. Through regular debriefs, reflection sessions, and professional development opportunities, fellows will connect their learning to the wider innovation district and the future of health. Fellows may be assigned to Pearl departments, partner organizations, or specific roles that showcase unique aspects of the innovation district. While daily work may occur within a host department or partner organization, the cohort experience, reflection sessions, and overall fellowship are managed and supported by The Pearl's Education and Innovation Partnerships team. The cohort will convene regularly to share insights, identify cross-placement connections, and understand how various fields, partners, and systems collaborate to shape the future of health.
