About The Position

Dresden Middle School is seeking applicants for the position of PE Teacher Head Football Coach. This teacher should have an active Tennessee teaching license endorsed with Health/Wellness and PE. The ideal candidate will have sufficient coaching experience and a well-developed philosophy regarding football and physical activity.

Requirements

Active Tennessee teaching license endorsed with Health/Wellness and PE.
Sufficient coaching experience.
Well-developed philosophy regarding football and physical activity.
Minimum of bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
Tennessee Teacher License/Certification in appropriate subject/grade
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
Understanding of TEAM Evaluation Model

Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that align to state standards and facilitate active learning within the district curriculum.
Develop schemes of work, assessments, and grading in accordance with established procedures
Instruct and monitor students in the use of PE equipment
Engage ALL students in physical activity that is appropriate for their skills and abilities; conduct PE programs and a football program that promotes student safety and well-being.
Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
Manage student behavior by establishing and reinforcing rules and procedures
Maintain discipline in accordance with local policy and state law
Adhere to the Tennessee Teacher Code of Ethics
Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress according to school and district policies
Participate in department, school, district, and parent meetings
Perform all duties with integrity, professionalism, and in compliance with all school, district, state, and federal laws/policies.
Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities
As head football coach, abide by TSSAA policies and guidelines.
Use the position of HC as an opportunity to build character in addition to skill.
Demonstrate skills and preparation in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds
Encourage family and community engagement
Communicate effectively with families
Participate in appropriate professional development and trainings
Perform other duties as assigned
