About The Position

MiniMed is seeking a PD Program Manager for its New Ventures group to lead New Venture programs. This role involves providing program leadership to cross-functional New Venture programs within an inorganic, accelerator environment focused on developing new diabetes systems, products, and solutions. The team is designed to be highly skilled, flexible, efficient, versatile, and agile in medical device product development for patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes requiring intensive insulin therapy. The Program Manager will drive strategy and execution of programs delivering products for patients needing emerging diabetes management solutions. This involves leading and collaborating with a cross-functional team including co-collaborators, outside partners, and internal experts from various engineering and product development disciplines (mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, manufacturing, operations, marketing, clinical regulatory affairs, quality). The role includes generating program plans detailing scope, risks, work products, resources, interdependencies, and schedules. The Program Manager will also engage senior leadership and be accountable for program performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience

Nice To Haves

  • Program management experience in the medical device domain with emphasis in Class III Implantable medical devices and external devices that communicate with them
  • Experience managing Contract Development/Manufacturing organizations
  • Strong program management skills
  • Project Management Certification, such as PMP
  • Mastery and proficiency in product development and new product introduction, including clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of cross-functional project teams and functional management
  • Knowledge of Program Phase-In and Phase-Out Planning
  • Influence management skills; experience working collaboratively at all levels in matrix environment to build and maintain the positive relationships required to accomplish organizational goals

  • Experience with MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, VISIO, Outlook, SharePoint, Jira, OneNote and other collaboration and workflow management tools

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead New Product Introduction and Sustaining programs from conception through commercialization
  • Program Planning: Program charters, program plans, Resource (expense and FTE), key risks and mitigation strategy, program schedule and interdependence
  • Program Execution: Leading the program team against plan, Coaching and mentoring team members, Effective risk management, Tracking program schedule, Creation, reconciliation and tracking of program budget, Effective conflict resolution, Communication with leaderships, management and team members including appropriate risk and escalation management
  • Build a solid and high performing team with clear communication to leadership, extended team members, and enabling functions
  • Engages team members to ensure effective team dynamics and mutual accountability.
  • Bring and implement program management best practices within team. Influence positive change outside of Program Management team
  • Provides regular updates and strategies for executive management review and decision making around program priorities, budget, timing, resources and assumptions, including impact on the customer, enterprise-wide resources, and revenues.
