About The Position

This position is for a Patient Care Technician/Tele Technician located at Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus. It is a full-time role, 36 hours per week, with night shifts from 7pm-7am, including weekend and holiday rotations. Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association
Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
Minimum three months of previous healthcare or monitor tech experience
Attend an in-depth orientation regarding patient care skill tasks

Responsibilities

Under supervision of a Registered Nurse and according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for care, comfort and safety of patients.
Under general supervision, monitors cardiac rhythms and oxygen saturation to detect abnormal pattern variances via telemetry equipment.
Monitors screens, assesses patients’ cardiac rhythms, prints strips for medical charts, and notifies nursing and/or medical personnel according to established procedure.
Performs related clerical duties such as answering routine questions, taking and relaying telephone calls, and the like.
