About The Position

This position is for a Patient Care Technician/Tele Technician located at Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus. It is a full-time role, 36 hours per week, with night shifts from 7pm-7am, including weekend and holiday rotations. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
  • Minimum three months of previous healthcare or monitor tech experience
  • Attend an in-depth orientation regarding patient care skill tasks

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision of a Registered Nurse and according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for care, comfort and safety of patients.
  • Under general supervision, monitors cardiac rhythms and oxygen saturation to detect abnormal pattern variances via telemetry equipment.
  • Monitors screens, assesses patients’ cardiac rhythms, prints strips for medical charts, and notifies nursing and/or medical personnel according to established procedure.
  • Performs related clerical duties such as answering routine questions, taking and relaying telephone calls, and the like.
