About The Position

This position involves building therapeutic relationships and providing trust-building, strength-based individualized care consistent with a child’s treatment plan. The role emphasizes using the least restrictive interventions while upholding the rights and dignity of children and their families. As a direct care provider to psychiatric minor patients, this position is considered essential and requires reporting as scheduled during emergency events.

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge of child/adolescent development and needs of individuals with disabilities.
• Ability to provide positive statements to individuals served.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to provide direction for activities of daily living for youth in care and instruct children/adolescents in basic hygiene and social skills.
• Ability to observe and describe observations orally and in writing in a manner that is easy to understand and legible.
• Ability to communicate with children/adolescents who have a variety of physical and mental disabilities.
• Ability to interact and intervene verbally and physically in crisis situations.
• Ability to lead and oversee children/adolescents and staff in recreational and social activities.

Nice To Haves

• Reasonable experience as a direct care staff person at CCCA to have acquired adequate institutional knowledge to train others in role, with a contributor rating or higher.

Responsibilities
