About The Position

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a PCBA Process Engineer located in Milpitas, CA. Reporting to the Director, Operations Engineering, the PCBA Process Engineer will be responsible for developing, improving, and sustaining PCBA manufacturing processes with a strong focus on cost, quality, delivery, productivity, and yield improvements. This position will support process engineering activities across new product introduction, equipment implementation, process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement in a high-technology electronics manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of process engineering experience within high-technology electronics manufacturing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Deep expertise in PCBA manufacturing processes, including SMT, stencil printing, SPI, pick-and-place, reflow soldering, wave/selective soldering, coating, underfill, and depanelization.
  • Strong experience developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes with a focus on yield, quality, throughput, and cycle time improvements
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex process issues using statistical methods and root cause analysis tools.
  • Experience supporting NPI, technology transfers, equipment qualification, and process validation in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on knowledge of process control, DOE, SPC, PFMEA, and continuous improvement methodologies to drive manufacturing excellence.
  • Strong understanding of PCBA inspection and test methodologies, including AOI, X-ray, functional testing, component testing, and measurement systems.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership with the ability to influence cross-functional teams, lead process improvement initiatives, and support strategic manufacturing objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Drive PCBA process development and optimization to improve quality, cost, delivery, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Evaluate product designs and manufacturing processes using DFX methodologies.
  • Establish and sustain robust, repeatable process parameters for production.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and implement corrective actions for process-related issues.
  • Champion yield, productivity, throughput, cycle-time, and safety improvement initiatives.
  • Support capital equipment selection, qualification, implementation, and new technology introduction.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, manufacturing standards, and statistical process controls.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support new product introduction, technology transfers, and operator training.
