About The Position

The PCB Designer - Librarian establishes and maintains ownership of Advanced Energy’s PCB libraries as a core engineering function while designing complex, high-density printed circuit board assemblies for power conversion products. Using Altium Designer, the role creates schematics, PCB layouts, fabrication packages, assembly documentation, and library components for new and existing product designs. The position serves as a technical resource throughout the product development lifecycle and is based in a standard office environment in Fort Collins, Colorado, or Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of PCB design experience.
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer and PCB design database management.
  • Experience designing complex multilayer PCB assemblies for production environments.
  • Experience designing high-voltage and high-power PCB assemblies, including consideration of creepage, clearance, electrical isolation, thermal management, manufacturability, and reliability requirements.
  • Strong understanding of PCB design requirements for high-voltage, high-current, and power conversion applications.
  • Working knowledge of creepage and clearance requirements, isolation techniques, and safety-driven PCB layout practices.
  • Ability to balance electrical performance, thermal requirements, manufacturability, and system reliability in complex PCB designs.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in Electronics Technology, Engineering Technology, Computer-Aided Design, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
