About The Position

Volt is immediately hiring a PCB Design Engineer remotely. As an Info Security Sys Engineer, you will be responsible for placing and routing components, ensuring that all electrical and physical specifications meet the specific design requirements for each PCB design. You will also ensure that all requirements for manufacturing and assembly are met, develop and generate drawings and documentation to facilitate PCB fabrication and assembly, rework PCB designs when engineering design changes occur, and assist the design team with ideas to resolve issues. Additionally, you will perform drawing and documentation updates per the instructions of engineering change requests and create component ECAD library footprints and/or schematic symbols as required for design projects.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or graduate Degree and a minimum 2 years of prior related experience
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
Multiple years of experience in PCB design or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in PCB design.

Nice To Haves

Competent skills and experience with ECAD software applications and related equipment.
Specific experience with Siemens (formerly Mentor Graphics) Xpedition software is desired.
Competent experience and knowledge of PCB design technologies, PCB layout techniques, electrical schematics, PCB fabrication and assembly drawings is desired.
Practical knowledge of industry standards, such as IPC for design (including design for manufacturability) and ASME/ANSI for documentation, is desired.
Specific relevant IPC standards include IPC-2221, IPC-2222, IPC-6012, IPC-A-600, and IPC-A-610.
IT experience to help with backend management and maintenance of ECAD tools such as Siemens Xpedition and EDM.

Responsibilities

Place and route components ensuring that all electrical and physical specifications meet the specific design requirements for each PCB design.
Ensure that all requirements for manufacturing and assembly are met.
Develop and generate drawings and documentation to facilitate PCB fabrication and assembly.
Rework PCB designs when engineering design changes occur and assist the design team with ideas to resolve issues.
Perform drawing and documentation updates per the instructions of engineering change requests.
Create component ECAD library footprints and/or schematic symbols as required for design projects.
