About The Position

The PCB/A Soldering Specialist plays a critical role in the manufacturing and assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBs) by ensuring precise and high-quality soldering of electronic components. This position is responsible for executing both manual and automated soldering processes to meet stringent industry standards and product specifications. The specialist will collaborate closely with engineering and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot and resolve soldering defects, thereby enhancing product reliability and performance. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are paramount to maintain the integrity of sensitive electronic assemblies. Ultimately, this role contributes directly to the successful production of electronic devices that meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in PCB soldering, including through-hole and surface mount technology (SMT).
  • Familiarity with soldering tools such as soldering irons, reflow ovens, and microscopes.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in IPC-A-610 or equivalent soldering standards.
  • Experience with lead-free soldering processes and RoHS compliance.
  • Background in electronics assembly or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of quality control methodologies and defect analysis.
  • Basic understanding of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual and automated soldering of electronic components on PCBs following detailed work instructions and blueprints.
  • Inspect solder joints for quality and compliance using visual inspection and magnification tools, identifying and correcting defects.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot soldering issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain and calibrate soldering equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
  • Document all soldering activities, including process parameters and quality checks, to support traceability and continuous improvement.
