About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Soldering Technician. The hours for this role are 7am-3:30pm. The hourly rate for this position is $24.50 - $27.50 per hour. Eaton’s Mission Systems Division is currently seeking a Soldering Technician within its Actuation Team. This position is based at our Orchard Park, NY facility. Utilizes knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform mechanical soldering and other manufacturing processes. Maintains standards of quality, production, and safety; complies with all company policies and works as part of a team to ensure that daily goals are met.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency.
  • 2 years of relevant solder/electrical experience or Internal Job skills matrix points requirements
  • Proficient using various soldering equipment, hand tools, and measuring devices.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma with skilled trade certification or Associate’s Degree or Equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of aerospace soldering and crimp experience
  • Demonstrated ability to complete all required technical skills above
  • Demonstrated understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, Cellular Manufacturing, One Piece Flow, and Continuous Improvement concepts
  • Ability to communicate effectively, manage time and adapt to various work environments.
  • Demonstrated ability/experience with all soft skills listed above

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring that compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety standards are met.
  • Obtain and maintain Certified Operator Status and J-Standard.
  • Obtain Space Addendum, NASA crimp certification, IPC-620, following site guidelines (As applicable)
  • Perform manufacturing processes on low to moderate complexity assemblies following written instructions.
  • Perform soldering and crimping operations of wires on mechanical and/or electrical assemblies with a familiarity in component surface finishes and aerospace cleanliness requirements as required.
  • Perform detailed soldering operations while working under a microscope as required.
  • Ability to perform low to moderate complexity electrical test procedures using test equipment while following written acceptance documents.
  • Document test results on data sheets and/or record test data in electronic data collection system.
  • Ability to communicate problems in product or quality in to supervisor or manager clearly and concisely.
  • Skilled at diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical assemblies issues.
  • Basic experience with ERP systems and standard Microsoft applications
