About The Position

This is a benefit-eligible, full-time position (72 hours every two weeks), working 12-hour night shifts on various days and located at Scripps Green Hospital located in Torrey Pines. The ideal candidate will be someone who can work in a fast-paced environment and is able to connect with their patients to provide an exceptional patient experience. The ability to demonstrate accurate documentation of patient activity in EPIC EMR will be key to the success of this position. You will work in a 40-bed unit, with 28 private rooms, and will oversee care of on average 7-10 patients at any given time during the night shift. This position may require you to float within Scripps Green Hospital where you will be prepped at the beginning of each shift.

Requirements

  • One year of recent experience working under the license of an licensed healthcare provider OR current enrollment or completion of Nursing Assistant training from a recognized school OR current enrollment in an RN program with completion of the second semester, including nursing fundamentals
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instruction in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a service aptitude
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Provider

Nice To Haves

  • CNA certification
  • Multiple patient care skills preferred
  • Preferred one-year acute care experience

Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent service to patients as a key member of the clinical care team
  • Assists patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and ensures the patient has a safe, organized environment
  • Assists with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician
  • Supports the unit with a variety of patient logistic, clerical, equipment/supply, and charge reconciliation duties
