About The Position

The PC Support Specialist is responsible for addressing and resolving inquiries from agency staff. This includes running diagnostic programs to determine the cause of problems, as well as researching issues that may require additional support. The specialist trains users on various components of the agency’s equipment and technical systems, composes documentation, and oversees a breadth of technical information, including time-keeping software and the electronic health record system. The employee also administrates system accounts on our network, as well as devices for agency staff, within the community homes, and within the office. The PC Support Specialist reports to the IT Systems Director.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years of experience in information technology or systems fields.
  • Demonstrates the ability to interact with departmental staff, as well as direct care staff.
  • Demonstrates analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literacy and technical knowledge proficiency.
  • Strong written and oral communication.
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Certificate or Associates Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs regular maintenance to ensure that information systems operate as expected.
  • Identifies and resolves issues that may cause operation issues to the network.
  • Prepares, deploys and repairs computer equipment and related devices.
  • Assists users in the installation of software.
  • Maintains a log of systems support tasks that have been requested of the department and identifies when tasks have been completed.
  • Keeps accurate and up-to-date inventory of agency assets.
  • Coordinates with Comcast and ADT to ensure that accounts with both vendors are up to date, and acts as liaison for agency inquiries.
  • Serves as main point of contact for Integrated Alarm specialist; also troubleshoots.
  • Coordinates with program to ensure proper location of technology equipment at homes.
  • Audits and verifies that higher priced consumer purchases are in homes as expected.
  • Reviews and files emails in the KenCCID group technology email account to ensure important emails are discovered, and that necessary actions are performed.
  • Conducts demonstrations to familiarize members of the organization with IT hardware and software.
  • Delivers on-site trainings and remote support where possible.
  • Ensures that staff members receive ongoing training.
  • Records staff feedback and feature requests and communicate to IT Systems Director for advanced discussion and identification of potential systems improvements.
  • Updates and improves training materials to reflect and incorporate new software features and modules that would benefit the organization.
  • Assists Fleet Manager in the administration of driver safety training and provides training documentation to the agency’s Training Coordinator.
  • Coordinates with Fleet Manager to relocate vehicles at sites or when necessary in the case of needed repairs.
