About The Position

The PC&IS Engineer (Controls and Instrumentation Engineer) will work onsite in a process plant environment in Kansas City. This role involves delivering designs and Engineering packages related to power and instrumentation installation for industrial plants. The engineer will define the scope of work in discussion with the customer, coordinate with the offshore team, and deliver Engineering Deliverables. Responsibilities include coordinating with customers to gather necessary inputs for engineering design, liaising with vendors and the construction team for design completion information, attending design reviews with customers and the construction team for approvals, and supporting construction and start-up activities. The role also includes leading the electrical startup of all process and packing equipment.

Requirements

• Should have worked as an Instrumentation and Control Design Engineer developing engineering design packages for industrial plants.
• Should have Knowledge in specifying process plant instruments and hands on experience in selection of instrumentation.
• Selection and design of controls and hardware for control and monitoring process plant instrumentation.
• Instrumentation knowledge and experience – set-up, calibration verification, adjustments, etc.
• Fisher Valves, Micro Motion Flowmeters, Rosemount transmitters, E+H Flowmeters and Transmitter, Rockwell control and communication system and Allen Bradly VFDs
• Prepare Instrument Datasheets, IO Lists, Instrument List, Wiring Diagrams and Engineering Information.
• Knowledge in PLC and SCADA systems for industrial networks.
• Experienced in LV Electrical Distribution Design Power Distribution Panels, Motor Control Centres for process plants in compliance with NEC.
• Previous experience with MCC’s, VFD’s, electrical troubleshooting, electrical schematics
• Trained and qualified in NFPA70E requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Previous work experience in system commissioning and validation would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define the scope of work discussing with customer, coordinate with the offshore team and deliver the Engineering Deliverables.
• Coordinate with Customer to collect all the required inputs to complete the Engineering Design.
• Coordinate with vendors and construction team to get the required information for completing the design.
• Attend design reviews along with customer and the construction team and get the necessary approvals.
• Support in construction and start up activities.
• Lead electrical startup of all process and packing equipment.
