Requirements

  • College degree required. Concentration in hospitality, sales, communications or recreation.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language at a level sufficient to communicate effectively with clients, members, guests, and co-workers.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, to include weekends, holidays and split shifts.

Nice To Haves

  • Hair must be clean and cut in a becoming style; management has final approval.

Responsibilities

  • Arrive to work on time, consistently.
  • Upon entering the property, arrive in proper uniform, crisp, clean and in good repair.
  • Attend all required training, safety courses; attend office and departmental meetings.
  • Report any safety hazards, follow up that hazard has been corrected, and assist with providing a safe work environment.
  • Read and familiarize oneself with the daily activities on property.
  • Review any new memorandums posted, and verify your schedule for next shift.
  • Perform shift communication with previous shift employees as well as the next shift.
  • Answer all calls promptly (within four rings) and with a smile.
  • Be conscious of using polite, appropriate vocabulary and tone.
  • Handle all calls using the provided dialogues as a guide.
  • Capable of answering questions about hotel/resort facilities; be knowledgeable about Ponte Vedra Beach and the surrounding communities.
  • Have a thorough understanding of systems operations, PBX trunking, computer, in-house telephone station, and radio unit.
  • Communicate actively with related departments (PBX, Bellstand, Conference Services, Housekeeping) to facilitate open lines of communication.
  • Handle guest and employee messages accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform follow-up and verification procedures regularly (trunk verification, active messages).
  • Report any equipment problems to the Systems Manager or M.O.D. immediately.
  • Assist other departments as able.
  • Clean, maintain, and stock office as needed or directed.
  • Work closely with business center attendant, and when that office closes, monitor the incoming faxes.
  • Maintain lines of communication with the Security and Maintenance staff on duty.
  • Make an effort to monitor department heads on property, and encourage them to keep you advised of their whereabouts.
  • Knowledgeable of 911 procedures, making sure that they are handled according to our written policy.
  • Perform and follow up on any other duties assigned by the Manager on Duty or Lodging Director.
