PBX Maintenance Mechanic - Dept 410
About The Position
This position is responsible to diagnose issues, adjust, repair, and perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment while complying with Department of Transportation rules and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. These positions will work at the PBX facility. Diesel mechanics are responsible for performing repairs, and maintain, diesel engines that power trucks and other vehicles. Must be able and willing to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull and reach. Must be able and willing to lift, push, pull, and carry at least 70 pounds. This position works inside/outside in extreme hot and/or cold environments and also may require driving during inclement weather. Must be able and willing to communicate on two way radios with dispatchers, PBX coordinators, and PBX manager.
Requirements
- 6 months’ experience of mechanic work in the work history section of application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program.
- Candidates with 6 or more attendance points and/or any suspension in the past 12 months will not be considered.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
- Must be able to read, write, and interpret general equipment safety procedures to ensure safety.
- Must be able and willing to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull and reach.
- Must be able and willing to lift, push, pull, and carry at least 70 pounds.
